Description
Modern society is
increasingly reliant on information processing and global networks. In such
a society, IS security is a vital and a growing concern: IS security
incidents are increasingly becoming common problems in organizations. These
IS security incidents result from system abuse, hacking, denial of service,
viruses, human error, etc. They cause direct financial losses to
organizations in labor and equipment required for incident recovery,
business interruption, and losses to fraud. They also violate the privacy
of the customers of these organizations (e.g., theft of health information)
and can cause direct financial losses to these customers (e.g., identity
theft). An expanding group of home Internet users face these and other
threats, including spam, spyware, and hijacking.
These IS security
problems and threats provide motivation for a wide range of research in IS
security. To meet with these challenges, this track invites high quality
research papers on behavioral IS security and assurance issues.
