General Mitchell International Airport

General Mitchell International Airport is 10 minutes from downtown Milwaukee, the Midwest Airlines Center, and major downtown hotels.  It is efficient and easy to use with carrier choice and competitive fares.  In fact, USA Today rated General Mitchell International as the 3rd best airport in the country.  Here are the facts:

Airlines - Mitchell International is served by most major airlines including:

Air Canada

Midwest Airlines

 America West

Northwest

 AirTran Airways

US Airways

 American

Northwest

 Delta

Regional Carriers - Five regional carriers also fly into Mitchell International - American Eagle, ATA Connection (Chicago Express), ComAir, Continental Express, Midwest Connect and US Airways Express.

Destinations - These 15 airlines offer scheduled nonstop or direct service to nearly 100 destinations with 400 daily departures and arrivals.

Midwest Airlines - Mitchell International serves as the hub for Midwest Airlines, rated as the top U.S. airline by Conde Nast Traveler (the first time a domestic airline has ever been rated in the top 5 internationally by them),

Volume - General Mitchell International Airport has enjoyed a 57% increase in passengers since 1987.  The annual number of take-offs and landings has increased 80% in the same time frame.  In 1998 there were 9.6 million seats used, averaging 75,504 daily.  In 2004, Mitchell International will open 8 additional gates increasing volume by at least 10%.

Car Rentals - Five on-premise auto rental agencies are located in the airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National.
