 Social Event - Tuesday Evening
 
Oktoberfest in December

The social event for ICIS 2006 will take place on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 PM and will be held in the ballroom of the Midwest Airlines Convention Center.  The event will feature food, music, dancing, socializing and off course beer.

 The  planned buffet for the social event includes the following:
  • Wisconsin cheese, sausage, bread and crackers
  • Vegetable platters
  • Warm Bavarian pretzels with mustard and cheese sauce
  • Mashed potato martini bar - served with butter, sour cream, chives, chopped onions, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar, black bean corn relish & salsa chicken curry and smoked brisket with cabernet reduction
  • Brats, polish sausage, kraut and mustard
  • Mini beef rouladens
  • Potato pancakes with applesauce
  • Carved turkey breast with cherries jus
  • Carved house smoked stuffed pork loin with apples and apricots
  • Warm German potato salad
  • Disserts - linzer tortes, strawberry schaum torte, strudel and German chocolate cake

and of course an authentic beer garden will be created serving:

  • Beer and wine (German and domestic), soft drinks, water, coffee and teas

The entertainment for the social event includes:

Johnny Hoffman & Herzbuben

This traditional German band has been voted “the best in Milwaukee”.  Johnny Hoffman and Herzbuben band have entertained guests at Milwaukee’s German Fest for the past 25 years.  The German vocalists have been selected to be inducted into the Vocal Hall of Fame.  This eight piece band will involve the audience with invitations to polka, waltz, sing, clap and enjoy the essence and spirit of the German culture.

The Danube Dancers

This group of incredibly talented dancers will waltz through the banquet room, complete in their German attire, and then weaving through the group, handing out Swiss chocolate truffles.
